Hello my name is Tiffany and I blog here. I think of you (my readers often) and feel bad when I don’t share the cool (and not so cool) things I’m making and doing. Honestly, I’ve kind of enjoyed being away… not because I don’t love connecting with you but because I’ve really enjoy spending time with the people around me, especially those I live with.

This summer has been one of the best to date for my family. No major vacations or big purchases– just each other. Since late April we have celebrated 3 birthdays, Mother’s day, Father’s day, and our 5th wedding anniversary. We’ve hosted four out of town guests, traveled 15hrs worth of road trips, camped out in the basement, read lots of books, ate yummy food, juiced (and ate no food), I completed a 5k, we’ve purged and organized, we met new friends, we watched movies, and just enjoyed each other.

Creatively, I managed to make birthday and baby shower gifts and invitations and squeezed in lots of “creative consulting.” And while I love picture taking as much as the next blogger, most times I left my camera behind. I’ve been wanting to experience life rather than capture it, edit it, then post it. Occasionally, I snapped pictures with my phone and got back to life without much thought about the aperture or the perfectly framed shot.
In addition to my crafts I’ve been working on project: me. This project hasn’t been as fun as crafting but the results are shaping up to be beautiful (…the kind of beauty that doesn’t fade). Part of “project: me” is a refocusing of my priorities and responsibilities. I’m talking to the Lord more, being more intentional about the time I spend with my husband and children, and getting to know myself. Oh, and did I mention we are starting to homeschool this year?
I’m not sure what this all means for my blogging. I hope to be able to pop in and share the meek+chic things I create but I also long for the freedom from (self- imposed) guilt when I don’t have anything to say or share. If it’s one thing I’ve learned recently it’s “if you don’t have anything edifying to say, don’t say anything at all.” If you’d like to stay connected, while I figure out my next steps, I encourage you to sign up for email updates on the sidebar. You’ll get an email when I post rather than checking back only to see that same picture from that old project week after week (don’t you hate when that happens?!) I’ve been using Twitter and Instagram more because they takes less time, so you can also find me there. Until next time …
